Why Dr. Woon?

Many patients are surprised to find out the extent of noninvasive cosmetic procedures I perform, especially as a neuroophthalmologist. I enjoy integrating the medicine and science behind helping others feel good about themselves. My motto is to help people “look better, not different.”

In neuro-ophthalmology, I use Botox extensively to treat chronic migraines as well as blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm, conditions that can keep people from driving or having normal social interactions at times. These treatments involve injections in very delicate areas like the edge of the eyelids and require knowledge of facial anatomy to avoid complications.

Patients started asking if they could use their own leftover Botox for cosmetic purposes, so I decided to become better trained on the cosmetic use of Botox.

​​​​​​​During Botox seminars, you inevitably learn about injectable filler. I was initially very nervous about changing people’s appearance with filler but soon discovered I enjoyed it. I then attended more seminars and trainings and met other practitioners, such as aestheticians and nurses, doing other procedures.

When I found out there was a noninvasive procedure to tighten my jawline and droopy face, I immediately purchased an Ultherapy machine. I soon learned that not all chins would respond to the tightening without removing fat which led to a Coolsculpting machine purchase. I was my first customer thought the treatment time was too long and decided to buy a second machine to cut the treatment time in half. This is how I went down the path of acquiring all my cosmetic machines, purchasing new machines to treat more areas and different problems.

I do extensive research and training on all the procedures I perform and administer the procedures myself with the expertise and knowledge as a medical doctor. I customize each patient’s plan depending on their personal wants and their age, skin tone, body shape.
