David C. Fu, O.D.

Dr. David Fu is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He has provided comprehensive optometric care as well as pre- and postoperative care of surgical patients at Whitsett Vision Group since 2007.

Dr. Fu earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston, where he completed various externships that provided him with training and experience in subspecialties such as low vision rehabilitation, pediatric optometry, and specialty contact lens fitting. While at Whitsett Vision Group for an externship, he gained valuable experience in managing surgical patients, and his clinical skills and demeanor ultimately led to his joining the practice.

Dr. Fu is a member of the Harris County Optometric Society.

Dr. Fu’s clinical and research interests include:

• Corneal topography and diagnostics as a tool for improving outcomes for lens and refractive surgeries

• Pre- and postoperative care of cataract, LASIK, and other surgery patients

• Diagnosis, management, and treatment of glaucoma
