Insurance and Financing

Insurance & Financing

At Whitsett Vision Group, our goal is to assist you in making informed decisions about your cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, LASIK, or other vision care procedures. We provide a variety of payment options tailored to your needs, ensuring you receive the best possible payment flexibility.

Cataract Surgery & Insurance

Cataract procedures are considered covered benefits by Medicare and most insurance companies consider cataract surgery with a standard monofocal lens a covered benefit.

Monofocal lenses provide most patients with excellent distance vision with the use of glasses after surgery, as long as there are no other ocular health concerns. Your insurance company also considers the surgical center fee and anesthesia fee a covered benefit. Your specific coverage and out-of-pocket cost for surgery will depend on your deductible, coinsurance, and the type of lens implant technology you choose.

At Whitsett Vision Group, we offer a variety of advanced lens implant options to provide personalized vision. However, these lenses are not considered a covered benefit by Medicare and your insurance company. You can still choose one of these advanced lens implants for an additional cost. Once you and your surgeon determine which lens technology is best for you, one of our surgical counselors will provide you with pricing information, and walk you through your insurance benefits.

LASIK

Most insurance providers classify LASIK and other refractive procedures as elective, or not medically necessary. As a result, they do not cover the cost of the LASIK procedure. We are committed to providing one convenient cost for all as well as the latest technology and expertise to bring you the best outcome.

Cross-linking

Most health plans cover cross-linking procedures as deemed medically necessary and when certain criteria is met.
