Choosing the right provider for your Houston LASIK procedure can make a world of difference in your life, and your vision. At Whitsett Vision Group, we want to make it easy for you to see why we’re the right choice for your LASIK procedure.
There are many options to choose from when it comes to LASIK technology, and choosing the right one can make all the difference. At Whitsett Vision Group, our surgeons have done the research, and have chosen the technology they feel provides patients with the safest LASIK experience, while providing them with best visual outcomes. This investment to the best, safest LASIK technology is why our surgeons are confident that Whitsett Vision Group is the best place to have LASIK in the Houston metroplex.
A long time ago, LASIK was done using technology that involved a blade, but that isn’t the case anymore. At Whitsett Vision Group, we use the WaveLight EX 500 Excimer Laser and Custom Wavefront Refractive Suite. Whitsett Vision Group provides an all-laser LASIK experience by using the combination of the excimer laser and the Blade-free IFS Intralase laser.

Improved Vision
The LASIK procedure reshapes your cornea, which changes the way images focus on your retina. The reshaping allows you to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses, whether you are currently nearsighted, farsighted or have an astigmatism.
The procedure is completed in a few steps and takes a few minutes to complete.
Step 1: Topical anesthetic drops are placed in your eye to completely numb the surface.
Step 2: We use advanced laser technology, two separate lasers, during the LASIK procedure. The first laser creates the corneal flap which is a tiny opening on the surface of the eye.
Step 3: The flap is then lifted by our surgeons to allow the second laser to reshape the cornea.
Step 4: Once the cornea is reshaped, your surgeon will reposition the corneal flap, completing your procedure. No sutures are required as the flap is self-healing
LASIK no longer involves to use of blades as it did when the procedure was first performed. At Whitsett Vision Group, we use the WAVELIGHT EX 500 Excimer Laser and the iFS Advanced Femtosecond Laser. Whitsett Vision Group provides an all-laser LASIK experience combining these advanced technologies.
