What is Filler?

Over time, your skin can lose its elasticity, causing it to wrinkle and fold. The hyaluronic acid (HA) found in your facial skin diminishes as you age, contributing to this aging effect. Dr. Woon offers dermal filler to help you look as young as you feel. The filler replaces the skin’s natural HA, rejuvenating the volume and smoothness of your face. This natural-looking enhancement can provide you with a fresh appearance and boost of confidence in just fifteen minutes.

What can Filler treat?

Filler can rejuvenate a number of different problem areas, such as the smile lines (sometimes referred to as “parentheses”), marionette lines, and vertical lip lines. By replacing the essential HA in your skin, your face will look naturally full and much smoother. Everyone will notice that your look has improved, but no one will know why.

What to Expect

To minimize bruising, avoid taking blood thinners or aspirin containing medications the week before your procedure. Topical anesthetic can be applied for 15 minutes and ice is used at the moment of injection. The filler contains anesthetic as well so the procedure continues to become more comfortable. Strenuous exercise, consumption of alcohol, and extended exposure to sun or heat should be avoided for the 24 hours following the procedure. Temporary tenderness, swelling, or slight bruising is a normal post-surgical effect, and should clear up within a week.

Dr Woon has switched from Juvederm fillers to Revance RH fillers. The RH fillers are crosslinked to last 18 months. Notes The product is designed to blend more naturally into the skin with less nodule formation.

Recommended Treatment Duration
Results can last up to 2 years depending on the area treated. Around the mouth, expect 12-18 months.
