At Whitsett Vision Group, we are committed to providing our patients the latest breakthroughs in technology, allowing them the opportunity to have the clearest vision possible after surgery. The Tecnis Synergy lens is a next-generation presbyopia-correcting intraocular lens, offering cataract patients the widest range of continuous vision, and best near vision among leading intraocular lenses.
The Tecnis Synergy lens was specifically designed to improve both distance and near vision, offering patients with cataracts the ability to reduce or even eliminate the need for glasses after cataract surgery. In post-operative surveys, 9 out of 10 patients that had the Synergy lens implanted reported that they were no longer dependent on glasses after their cataract surgery.
The Procedure
Your surgeon will make a tiny incision, less than 1/8 of an inch wide, and use gentle vacuum suction to remove the natural lens from your eye. Next, through the same micro-incision, your PanOptix® multifocal IOL will be inserted, unfolded, and placed into the proper position. The incision is “self-healing” and usually requires no stitches — it heals quickly and provides a much more comfortable recuperation. The whole procedure usually takes between 15-30 minutes.
If you have been diagnosed with cataracts, and wish to reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses after cataract surgery, you may be a good candidate for a PanOptix® Multifocal IOL. Our doctors and staff will perform diagnostic testing, and discuss your lifestyle and visual goals to determine if this lens is a good fit for you. The best way to find out if you are a candidate is to schedule a cataract consultation.
